Well here we are in sunny England enjoying the lovely summer rain. I think they actually believe its hot over here if it gets above 20 degrees C!
We are on a tiny little island called Tags Island where Jeff is doing a interview for a BBC radio program which is recorded on a beautiful little house boat on the Thames.
We arrived last week from Rome and did a couple of days in an Earls Court backpackers where you wouldn’t know if you were in the uk or oz from all the aussie backpackers around.
Rome was amazing. We did the full tourist route, or as much as we could fit in, in 7 days. Saw the Vatican, Collosseum, Pantheon and got a good dose of hearty Roman cuisine and hospitality, but the highlight of the trip, although Myf may not agree, was getting caught in the middle of the George Bush protest (he was in town) turned riot in the streets of Rome. At first it was all peace, love and marching bands, until flares and bottles were launched at the riot Polizia and me and poor little myfo were hemmed in amongst thousand of angry rioters being tear gassed by Polizia and Carabanieri! We finally made a break for safety in front of a wall of crazy rioters, arms linked with balaclava’s and motorbike helmets on one side charging the police complete with riot shields and batons on the other side! Crazy, but we lived to tell the story.
We’ve done two gigs so far which were both cool and this week have 5 gigs including Sunday at Glastonbury which hopefully won’t be too much of a mud fest, then we’re going to hang on a narrow boat with our friends Emily and Ziggy, in the canals o’ london and visit their local The Wenlock, which serve a fine pint of real ale (that’s warm english beer!) and “doorstop Sarnys” (big sandwiches with salty beef, pickles and horseradish, or salad and pickles for Myfo) After that we’re not that sure but we’ll keep you posted.
Over.
